New Release Dates for FINAL DESTINATION 5 and APOLLO 18

A couple of upcoming horror films have landed new release dates.  First up, Final Destination 5has moved from its uncontested date of August 26th to August 12th.  Now the film will have to fight off the R-rated comedy 30 Minutes or Less, the period drama The Help, and the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror flick Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Taking up residence at FD5’s old date is the found-footage horror flick Apollo 18.  The film was set to come out this past March, then was moved to April, and then it got kicked all the way to January 6, 2012.  Now it’s moved up to August 26th where it’s only competition will be fellow Weinstein Company film Our Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd.  Hit the jump for synopses for Final Destination 5 and Apollo 18. In this fifth installment, Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.

Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.
