NBC Cancels THE PAUL REISER SHOW After Two Episodes; Ron Livingston Joins HBO’s GAME CHANGE and Kelli Giddish to Appear on THE GOOD WIFE

First in a round of TV news, after hearing The Paul Reiser Show would replace the canceled comedy series Perfect Couples, it sounds like the replacement just didn’t work. After just two episodes, The Futon Critic reports NBC has already canceled Paul Reiser’s new sitcom after very low ratings. There’s a good chance Perfect Couples may have proven to be a better option for the network after all. Now the 8:30/7:30c time slot will be filled by reruns of The Office.
For news on casting for HBO’s forthcoming TV movie Game Change and the CBS legal drama The Good Wife, hit the jump.
Ron Livingston has already found success at HBO after starring in Band of Brothers and now Deadline reports the actor will reunite with the cable network for the TV movie Game Change. Directed by Jay Roach (who delivered Recount for HBO previously), the film dives into politics again, but this time follows John McCain’s (Ed Harris) 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (Julianne Moore) as his running mate to their ultimate defeat in the general election. Livingston will play Mark Wallace, the senior adviser to the McCain-Palin campaign.

In addition, despite missing a step with the canceled crime drama Chase on NBC, actress Kelli Giddish now has another gig lined up. The actress will appear in the last two episodes of the current season of The Good Wife. Giddish will play an investigator for Lockhart Gardner who used to work with Kalinda (Archie Panjabi). Apparently there’s a chance she could return when the series returns for its third season in the fall, but the show has yet to be officially renewed.
