You probably know her as Robin Scherbatsky on How I Met Your Mother. Cobie Smulders is about to appear her first significant feature film role as Agent Maria Hill in Joss Whedon's 2012 comic adaptation of The Avengers.
Smulder's reportedly had screen tests with Samuel L. Jackson last week and Marvel confirmed yesterday that she will be playing Nick Fury's sidekick in The Avengers and maybe tie-in a few other Marvel films in the Avengers universe later on.

Iron Man, Oscar-nominee Mark Ruffalo as
The Incredible Hulk, Smauel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, two time Oscar-nominee Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as Captain America.
The Avengers premieres in the summer of 2012. At least I'll watch something epic before the world ends.
