On Sunday evening, Demi and a friend headed to The Grove in Los Angeles to catch a movie. The two were outfitted in matching tunics emblazoned with the words "THE ONLY COKE I DO IS DIET," sending a straight-edge message to Demi's many fans.
In November 2010, Lovato checked into a treatment facility for unspecified "physical and emotional issues." Later, Demi revealed that she struggled with cutting and an eating disorder, but would not divulge whether she had been dabbling in illegal narcotics.
Though Lovato looked dressed for a crowd, she still tweeted, "To this day paps stress me out. They just pop out of no where. #hollyweird," adding, "Walk into a movie, no one's there. Walk out, BOOM! Still getting used to this bizarre life. #justwannamakemusic #canigetaAMEN?! :P"
Perhaps Lovato would have more luck evading photographers if she were willing to do the movies in low-key garb. Just a thought.
Monday's news that Demi Lovato, 18, may have had a fling with actor Ryan Phillippe, 36, shocked many of the former Disney star's young fans. Lovato, an avid tweeter, did nothing to dispel the rumors—but a "source" (unnamed, as per usual) claims that these two are definitely not lovebirds: "It's not true. He's totally single."
Ryan may be single now, but the original source claimed he and Lovato were an item before he found out he'd fathered a child with Alexis Knapp, 21. So they aren't dating, but it could have happened, once upon a time in Hollywood...or "Hollyweird," as Demi's fond of calling it.
Whatever the case, Lovato doesn't have time to worry about it: She's got a hit single on her hands!
Even before the emotionally charged song was available, famous friends were encouraging their fans to download it as soon as possible. Brittany Snow tweeted Monday, "Everyone make sure to listen/download this talented & gorgeous girl @ddlovato new single #SKYSCRAPER out tonight!!" Kim Kardashian followed suit, writing, "I am so excited to download @ddlovato new song #SKYSCRAPER! It's out tonight! EVERYONE MUST DOWNLOAD IT!!! So proud of u Dem!"
Once the song was out, it didn't take long for Demi's peers to voice their approval of the stunning, haunting vocals:
