First Look at The Green Hornet

Superhero Hype! has posted up the first pictures of Seth Rogen's big screen adaptation of The Green Hornet. The original Green Hornet of course was the Tv show in the 1960's starring the ever so awesome Bruce Lee.

Here are some pics which includes Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz doing a scene and Jay Chou as Kato. And also check out Jay Chou's stunt double in Kato's costume.Yay!!
Yes.. Seth Rogen is writing the screenplay. Stop asking.

Wahaha. He's like "Eww don't touch me you normal people."

Have you ever seen Jay Chou look so geeky?

And now the best part....
I thought stunt doubles were suppose to look like the actors? He looks nothing like Jay Chou..
So what do ya'll think? Nothing's ever gonna top Bruce Lee's Kato for sure!

The Green Hornet will be out in theaters December 17, 2010. And guess what? The film is gonna co-star Nicolas Cage so you'll know this is gonna suck big time!

MOVIE UPDATES: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader Set Pictures

Yay! Set pictures from the third Chronicles of Narnia movie has hit the Internet. Here's some images of of the still-under-construction  Dawn Treader viking ship and Ben Barnes in the midst of shooting.

Ain't it pretty?

Looks like a really cool carnival ride

ComingSoon says that's Ben Barnes but it don't look like him. Oh well.

Wahaha. The guy looks so sad cause he can't go on the really nice ship.

So anyway. Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is set to be released in cinemas on 10th December 2010. Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley will be returning as the only remaining Pevensie children while Ben Barnes of course will be back as Prince King Caspian.

Hope it'll be better than the previous one since Fox has taken it over from the ass company Disney.

Up: Review

If Pixar- as a studio- has any weakness, it's they have no idea how to make a bad film. It has been 14 years since their first movie (Toy Story) and they are still consistently releasing entertaining movies that are not only freakin hilarious but has such a deep level of storytelling to. Pixar I salute you. Too bad you have to be owned by an ass of a company called Disney.
So Up is the latest from Pixar and though I still prefer Wall-E over Up, this movie is easily in my top 10 favourite animation films. I think Up is the most mature Pixar film to date. I mean this is the first time I've seen blood in a Pixar movie and the film deals with a lot of adult issues like divorce, death, poaching and stuff like that. So you'd think a movie with this much adult content will be more serious, hell no.. This movie had me laughing my guts deep the whole time.
So Up is about Carl Fredrickson and the movie opens with him as a kid meeting this girl, and the next 10 minutes we see their life story, growing up together and getting married and eventually Carl's wife dies. And one of the things they wanted to do together was travel to South America cause his wife always dreamed of building a house over a famous waterfall. So after she dies... I guess Carl had a nervous breakdown or something cause he decides, overnight, to blow up a billion balloons and fly his house to South America and fulfill his wife's dream.
Along the way we get introduced to new characters like Russell (a Japanese boy scout who's dad doesn't love him), Dug (a dog that can talk thanks to some high tech collar) and Kevin (a rare bird). And other characters to like the army of dogs which are so so so hilarious.
Up hits you in all the right places with it's charm and comedy and leaves you in tears with it's heartfelt story and touching score. It's perfect testament that animation films are able to achieve a higher level of engagement with the audience and still have a great storyline with great characters compared to live action movies.
There are so many parts of this movie that I really really liked. But the one that I can't possibly give enough praise for is the first 10 minutes of the movie. It's just so sweet and beautiful and ultimately heartbreaking in the end. I was actually close to tearing up at the end of the first 10 minutes. And that's saying a lot about the film coming from me cause I'm usually a heartless SOB.

And because piracy is so awesome.. Here's the the best part of the first 10 minutes. Don't worry, it doesn't spoil anything. Enjoy!

RATING: 9/10

GLEE!

It's so damn evil to make people wait 4 months just to see the second episode of a new tv series.. Especially when it's such an addictive show like Glee.
For most of ya'll who don't know, Glee is a new comedy-musical series on Fox that premiered after the American Idol finale this year. The show only has one episode released so far and I gotta tell ya'll.. it's so freakin awesome!
Just imagine Glee like High School Musical, only that when Troy Bolton told everyone he want's to sing, he gets beaten up and his head flushed down the toilet by the Wild Cats. It's about this teacher who leads a group of misfits as they try to ressurect the Glee (Performing Arts) Club in their school while the entire Student Body is out to tear them down.
Glee has quite a number of Broadway stars like Leah Michelle (Spring Awakening) and Matthew Morrison (Link Larkin from Broadway Hairspray). They perform the most catchy toe tapping versions of Broadway songs and other popular hits.
Check out some of their songs from the first episode. I guarantee you'll be hooked.2nd episode coming in 4 days!

District 9: Review

Yes.. I'm back blogging. Not like anyone cares but hey! Finally found the spirit to blog again after doing the blog for my IPD. Anyway I know it's been out long but just saw District 9 last week and it was awesome!
I love this movie man! This movie was so brilliant, so fast paced and so radically different from any movie I've seen. So District 9 is about this spaceship who kinda "crash landed" over Johannesburg and we find these aliens that are malnourished and dying and we decided to be nice to them. We set up a refuge camp for them and take care of them. But 30 years after the crash landing, we humans get sick of looking at their prawn faces and decide to move them to another refuge camp far far away. And this guy, Wikus van der bla bla is the guy in charge of evicting the aliens.
The CGI of the film is so gritty and the film's documentary style made all the action scenes look so freaking real. District 9 takes me back to films like Terminator where the film is so breathtaking and so amazing and then you find out the low budget it was made on and you just go like "WHAT?" The whole damn movie costs 30 million dollars. You know what other movie costs 30 million dollars? He's Just Not That Into You. So just compare the two and awe at the reverence of Peter Jackson once more!
Now I was looking at this and I'm thinking "This is a cool ass science fiction film." But there is also so much emotion and drama added to make the story even better. And such a big social statement of apartheid and racism of us humans.
Oh Oh Oh and it is so freakin gory! We get all the bloody massacres from people being blown up by ray guns and niggas devouring alien limbs. I don't get squeamish watching slasher films, but watching District 9 kinda made me cringe a little.

So anyway, if you guys are looking for a show that's gonna make you go Ohhh and Whoah and Holy Shit.. District 9 baby! District 9!!
